Student Research Paper Special Assignment
Student research paper guidelines: Each student will write a 5 page (typed, double-spaced, 12-pt font) research paper on an environmental science topic of their choice. Paper topics must be approved by Mr. Holland, no later than Wednesday, September 29th, 2021. You must cite at least three articles from scientific journals when writing your paper. These articles need to be cited within the text with APA formatting*, and your paper should have a Literature Cited section at the end of the paper listing these sources. Your paper must have correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation and have a fully developed introduction, body, and conclusion. This is not a group assignment. Each student will turn in their own, original paper. The entire project is worth 100 points of your overall semester grade. The paper is due on Wednesday, November 17th 2021.

 
Please utilize the Collin College library web page to obtain scientific articles. To obtain access, go to the main library page (http://www.collin.edu/library/index.html), then click on "library catalog"; or log in with your email login and password; or ask a librarian for help". Some suggested journals are Bioscience, Nature, Science, Environment, Natural History, Journal of Environmental Education, and the Journal of Environmental Health.

 
You may use electronic sources, but please make sure to cite them. The paper will be graded mostly on substance but will also be graded on grammar and spelling. Have your peers read your paper and help you before you turn it in. The Success Connection in the library is also willing to help.
