This assessment requires you to complete an annotated bibliography. An annotated bibliography is a list of citations to books, articles, and documents. Each reference is followed by a brief descriptive and evaluative paragraph — the annotation. The purpose of the annotation is to inform the reader of the relevance, accuracy, and quality of the sources cited, and in this case, how the concepts in the source are relevant to addressing the essay question.
Compare and contrast two of the following: functionalism, conflict theory or symbolic interactionism. How do these theories view the purpose of social institutions, social roles and social groups? Use examples (best to use different/distinctive view examples between the theories, instead of similarity) to support your analysis.

STEP 1: Research and annotate FOUR different sources that will be used to address the essay question. You can only use two of the set readings below (i have attached this for you) for the annotated bibliography — and in addition, you must research and locate two of your own academic (scholarly) sources.
Must use Source 1: Social Structure & Social Interactions- Sociological Perspective
Must use Source 2: An Intro to Sociology -Concensus and Conflict Views
STEP 2: Having identified your four sources, you are to summarise and evaluate each source in relation to its relevance to your selected topic. Each must be approximately 125 words (500 words in total). You are permitted 10% +/- leniency.
