Learning outcomes:
1. Understand how organisations deliver their strategic objectives through projects.
2. Understand the different approaches to project design and the situations where these approaches are more (or less) relevant.
3. Examine rationales behind variation in project management owing to organisational factors – with sectors /across sectors.
4. Be able to evaluate situation and need contingencies that impact organisational strategy and consequences of the same for project management.
Assessment details: Individual presentation slides submission, 100%

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
Choose an organisation and map its ‘project orientation’ from the 1. project portfolio perspective and 2. organisational perspective. You need to provide examples of at least 5 projects (in total) to substantiate your mapping on 1 and 2. You should provide a power point of no more than 10 slides and no more than 2000 words on these 10 slides excluding any references (1 slide) and Cover slide (together 1 slide)
The suggested outline is (this is not binding – and spare space you can use the way you want to add analysis / enhanced the assignment)
Slide 1: Cover slide;
Slide 2: Organisation profile with relevance to projects
Slide 3: Organisational perspective on project orientation- mapped Slide 4/5: Support for the perspective using 5 projects at least
Slide 6: Project portfolio perspective on project orientation- mapped
Slide 7/8: Support for the perspective using at least 5 projects (could be the same as above projects or different)
Slide 9: Discuss implications and concerns re: organisational strategy for doing projects.
