1.     Leadership

Write a letter (not to exceed two double-spaced typed pages) in which you address the questions below. Be sure to respond to all parts of the questions.

· What motivates you to become a higher education leader?

· What areas are you interested in developing or what leadership skills do you hope to develop through this program?

· Describe a situation in your professional life where you played a leadership role. In what ways were you effective? In what ways were you ineffective? What did you learn from this?

· What do you believe you can contribute to a community college and its community by participating in the Leaders Fellowship Program?

2.       Eulogy

An uncle you had never met before died in a different country. You have heard that he was an intellectual and a very generous man to many strangers. The family could not travel to the funeral but has elected you to represent them and say a eulogy at his funeral in a foreign land. Write an eulogy on behalf of his family for your delivery at his funeral.
