Give a 15-minute presentation (+/- 2 minutes) based on research you have undertaken into a contemporary challenge facing the sector relevant to your degree programme. Your research should identity a case study involving one or more organisations or companies and evaluate how these challenges to your sector are being, or not being, met. 

This research task will comprise of reviewing existing material, contacting organisations for interviews and statements by email, phone or other method. You will need to cite evidence of this in your assessment. 

You should also consider as part of this evaluation how your own skills would be tested by this challenge and the extent to which you are prepared, or not, and identify future learning and training needs. 

The presentation should include: 

• A critical appraisal of your research project investigating one of the challenges to your sector citing a case study of one (or more) organisations or companies and how these challenges to sector/business are being or not being met. 

• An evaluation of the extent to which your subject – specific and transferable skills would be relevant to working with the challenges you have investigated.

 • A reflection on how those skills will need to develop in future.
