Task: Write a three-page minimum (fourth page will be the Works Cited page for your four sources) informative essay telling students about which specific career their major could lead to. For instance, if a student is an Administration of Justice major that could lead to a job as a Detective in Law Enforcement. Then research from two of the sources I have provided: ("What are the Best Skills for a Millennial Job Seekers?" and "I’ve helped people land jobs at Google, Facebook and Uber—here are 5 things I never want to see on your resume") and two sources that you find in the Grossmont College databases, to state what the realities would be of working in that career.
Thesis: State one specific career and why students should pursue it. For Example: Administration of Justice majors should pursue careers as detectives with the San Diego Police Department as the job provides mental stimulation by being challenging and interesting, as well as financial rewards with excellent salary and benefits.
Body Paragraphs: Give job responsibilities including what an average day at work would look like, whether it would be in an office, hospital, on a job site, etc.; salary and benefits; potential growth in the field; how difficult it would be to succeed in this field, what other opportunities this career could lead to; as well as what type of person would excel in this type of stressful environment. Please put all of your quotes in the body paragraphs, not in the introduction or the conclusion.
Write in the third person only. Do not say I or any first person pronouns, or you/second person pronoun. Say students or Administration of Justice majors or detectives/they/their/them.
