Assignment Details 2024 Spring Phys

We are coming to the end of the first unit for the course. To finish out this unit I would like you to choose one of the topics below and write at least 3 page paper on the topic. The paper should be in APA format, but do not worry about an abstract. You will need to use 2 reputable sources for this paper. Reputable sources include, but are not limited to: peer reviewed journals, newspapers, documentaries, magazine, etc. When you are reviewing sources to determine if they are reputable please make sure the source is not biased, the author is credentialed in the field, or the public can make alterations to the articles. Remember choose one of the two topics.

 
Topic 1: In Chapter 2 neurotransmitters were discussed as well as the effects that drugs have on the brain. A hot topic right now is also the possibility of legalizing marijuana. I would like you to pick a side of the legalizing drugs argument and discuss whether you are for or against it in terms of its effects on the brain. You may pick on drug or every drug, but make sure if you pick more then one drug to discuss you are still giving detailed information as to why you think it should be legalized. Make sure the scope of you paper sticks to drugs in regards to affecting the persons brain/ neurotransmitters. Does this help or hinder a person's brain development? Does this help or hinder a person's mental health? What affects will the drugs have on a person immediately as well as later in life.
