This week was focused on the historical timeline that brought us to the current day in health insurance. Throughout that timeline, there were many important events that shaped health insurance into what we know it as today.
Your assignment for this week is to create a PowerPoint presentation that covers what you consider to be the most pivotal of those events.
Your presentation should include the following:
-An Introductory Slide (as outlined in the rubric)
-Each event should have it's own dedicated slide (slides should be in chronological order)
-Slides should include voice over narration.

Though some of what the speaker talks about in the TedTalk below is slightly different, as France has a different payer system than we do, the premise of her idea is transferable. As patients what responsibilities do we have to containing and controlling the cost of our healthcare and the usage of it? With the rise of technology, what responsibility do others, such as insurance companies have in providing access to portable technology to prevent expensive hospital visits and allow for remote monitoring? The Maryland Model
Last week you were introduced to various different payer systems. One state, Maryland, does in-patient reimbursement different than the rest of the country. For this week's assignment, you are asked to evaluate that system and it's efficacy. Specifically, Maryland has three goals for this system:
-Equity
-Community
-Value
In an APA 7th edition formatted paper, that is no more than 7 pages long (not including cover page and Reference page), please evaluate how Maryland is going about meeting these goals using this model. Additionally, you should assess how they are performing in regards to quality and cost in regards to other parts of the nation not using the model.
