By 11:59 pm Sun. 4/21, please complete this journal assignment.
For this assignment, you will fill out the blank synthesis chart attached above.
You should use your outline and your annotated bibliography as you complete this. From your outline, you will find at least 4 of your supporting points. From your annotated bibliography, you will find your sources that you can use to discuss those points.
For each supporting point, you should attempt to use at least 2 of the sources. If you can find supporting ideas within more than that--say, 3 or 4 sources--feel free to use more. You do NOT have to use all of the sources for each of your supporting points. Please refer to this sample synthesis chart for an example of what I'm asking you to do:
MCCC ENG 102 F23 SAMPLE SYNTHESIS CHART.pdf
Feel free to quote from the sources or just summarize what they say. Remember to include in-text citation (author last name and page number) and quotation marks if directly quoting.
When done filling out the chart, click on "create journal entry" and attach it.
The goal here is that when you start drafting your paper, you will be able to have some paragraphs where you use more than just one source. We want to avoid writing papers that follow a "source-by-source" format (where each paragraph just uses one source), and instead write papers that follow a "point-by-point" format (where each paragraph focuses on one of your supporting points, and within each of those paragraphs, you can use multiple sources to support what you are saying.)
Use your chart as you work on Essay 3 to help you synthesize your sources.
