Submitting your work
Coursework submission dates are outlined above for this module and are provided in the Assignment section of the module Canvas site. Deadlines are strictly adhered to. You must submit each assignment by no later than 4pm/6.30pm* on the submission date provided. Please note that a submission will be considered late even if it is only a few seconds after the published deadline.
Please amend the submission deadline according to the programme of study. Deadlines are 4pm for full time programmes, 6.30pm for part time programmes.
eSubmission: with the exception of scheduled on-campus examinations (where these are required by Professional Statutory Regulatory Bodies, e.g. for accredited Accounting degrees), all assessment will be online and eSubmission is the approved submission method for your programme of study and will be the process by which you will submit coursework for this module. Submission of a printed copy is NOT required or permitted.
Please consult the eSubmission information on your programme Canvas site to familiarise yourself with the eSubmission process.
Penalties for late submission
Please be aware that the University has in place a standard system of penalties for work that is submitted late (after the submission deadline). Please see the ‘Assessment Procedures’ section in the Student Handbook for details.
What to do if you cannot submit assignments on time
Please see
Time management is an important skill to develop at university. However, the University of Hull has processes to support students who have ‘good cause’ not to submit their work on time, both with short extensions (usually no more than 10 working days) and with extended periods of time for those asking for ‘additional consideration’. These are University rather than Faculty processes and are governed centrally, although colleagues in both the Faculty and University can help and provide advice on these matters, and the relevant section on ‘My Journey’ helps to explain what might constitute ‘good cause’ for applying for these processes. Please note, evidence or self-certification will usually be required to support an application for either an extension or ‘additional consideration’.
Students who are granted an extension, or given a longer period of time to complete their work due to ‘additional consideration’, and who submit their work according to the new deadline, will not have their work penalised as late.
Please note: there are changes to the University of Hull’s policies for extensions and requesting additional consideration from September 2022. Please see your module and programme Canvas site for up-to-date guidance about these processes and for links to documents you will need to complete.
NOTE: extensions cannot be granted for assessments held on fixed dates such as examinations.
