Battle of Algiers response paper guidelines

Please consider the following two questions for your short response essay. The write-up will be at least 600 words, but that is not necessarily a firm limit. Any in-text citations or footnotes should be properly formatted using any bibliographic style you'd like.

The due date is Wednesday, June 19, at 11:59 EST. I believe the film can be found in its entirety on YouTube, but you may also access the film for free through the UCF Library (UCF Library> Databases > K > Kanopy Streaming Videos > search for "Battle of Algiers"). To access via the library, you will need to login with your NID and password.

1. Identify instances of the use of strategies of attrition, intimidation, and provocation being used in the film. Explain how the strategy worked in the film, including the intended targets, audience, the effects of the attack(s), and why you believe the attack fits with the strategy. Note that an attack (or series of attacks) can be consistent with multiple different strategies.
2. How do the FLN and the French authorities justify the killing of civilians? Identify and describe specific examples and/or quotes from the film.
