• Apply critical standards in the analysis of communication. By analyzing your use of connotation and denotation in your language choices, your use of nonverbal channels, and your listening styles, you are applying a critical standard in analyzing your own communication.

Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is for you to demonstrate your understanding of concepts from Ch 3-5 by creating a Canva design of your choice.  https://www.canva.com/ Download as a PDF and upload the file. If you choose a video, upload first to youtube then share the link in a word document.

Directions:

1. Create a Canva design of your choice (slides, infographic, video etc) that answers: "How do I communicate?" Use first person and connect the concepts to your own skills.
2. Include the following topics:
   1. how you use denotation and connotation meanings for words when you communicate verbally
   2. your nonverbal channels and how you use them - discuss whether they are effective or if you are often or at times misunderstood (kinesics, proxemics, haptics, etc), use specific examples
   3. your listening styles and why you use them.
3. Define each topic in your own words and provide a personal example for each.
