1. What type of culture media would you use to grow Haemophilus (be specific regarding how the media is made)? Name one of the growth factors required by this organism (be specific).

 2. Define a zoonotic disease. Name a milk-borne pathogen.

 3. What is similar between the genus’s Rickettsia & Chlamydia? What is different? Be specific when indicating your answer for the microbe.

  4. Why is typhus fever considered a disease of war, filth, famine and poverty? Why do you think this disease is on the rise in the homeless population in the United States?

  5. Name a bacteria that has a symbiotic mutualistic relationship with a plant. Explain the relationship.
