Write a research mini-proposal on the research question " Veteran directed choice in complementary integrative interventions as an adjunct to opioid use to improve quality of life well-being and reduce opioid use" to address the items below.

APA format and style must apply consistently throughout the essay.

If figures and tables are needed, they are inserted after the reference page, not part of narrative section of the paper.

The title should describe the project and anticipated design. Less than 200 characters. Include the updated paper from the last submission (problem statement, purpose statement, question/hypothesis, theory, setting, study design, sample frame and sampling strategies).

Introduction

Background 2-3 paragraphs that end with the problem statement.

Significance/Specific Aims

Significance 1-3 paragraphs that end with the study purpose statement.

Research question and hypothesis: you only need to develop one question with one hypothesis that includes a possible intervention. You can add study aim(s), but I would limit it to one or two. The intervention will need a full description in the methods section.

Theory

Describe the theory planned and how it will be used to guide the study. Explain if the theory is grand, middle-range, or practice-level. If the theory will be operationalized, explain how. (less than a page).

Design: Study design (a few sentences)

Methods:

Setting. Describe the location or medium (Zoom, internet survey, etc) the study will take place (if applicable). (1-2 paragraphs)

Sample (sampling frame, inclusion/exclusion criteria), describe the elements that informed your sample size (G*Power calculation elements). You do not need to put the screenshot of the sample size calculator as you did for your class presentation. (1-2 pages)

Data collection instruments to include validity and reliability, types of validity found in the literature for you instrument(s), level of measurement, timing of measurement, what this timing is based on (rationale for the timing), respondent burden, and level of measurement. Consider also any common data elements, if collecting without identifiers then explain how you will match all instruments, plans to assess validity and reliability after study completed, and more as appropriate for your study. Also include your demographic sheet as an appendix. (3-4 pages)

Human Subjects

Ethics include your human protection plans with details, include your updated informed consent document as an appendix. (1-2 paragraphs)

Summary/Conclusion (one paragraph).
