1. Draft Proposal (about 150–250 words)
Introduce your topic: What anthropological issue, theme, or community are you exploring? What subfields of anthropology relate to this topic (e.g., cultural, biological, archaeological, linguistic)? Why did you choose this topic? What draws you to it? What do you hope your creative expression will communicate?
2. Annotated Bibliography (3 required sources)
One course textbook chapter
One peer-reviewed academic article
One public/popular anthropology source (e.g., podcast, museum piece, article)
For each: include:
A 2–3 sentence summary in your own words
A short explanation of how this source will inform your project
What medium will you use (art, zine, music, podcast, animation, brochure, etc.)?
Why does this medium fit your topic and message?
How will it help communicate what you’ve learned?
