One way of thinking about close reading (or listening) of another person is to imagine their words (and sounds and gestures) as a wet washcloth that you want to squeeze and wring every drop out of. There is always more. You can always keep squeezing out more.

You will just read from page 47 through the top of page 50 (to the end of the section I have marked).
And what you're going to do after you read the text is read it again 😊. The second time through, really slow down and take note of what she is really telling you (the reader) and how she is telling you. Write a reflection about:
- what she is really saying in these pages and how you know what she is saying;
- what kind of language and imagery she is using to say it;
- observations you can make about why she uses the language and imagery she does and its effectiveness.
