HSC 222 Discussion Topic 3 Group A
For our conversation about Can't We Talk about Something More Pleasant, I want you all to be the ones driving the discussion. Each of you will post at least one thoughtful, well-written, substantive question about this text to promote discussion. Note: avoid questions that are “plot-related” (i.e., the facts of how the story goes) or “yes/no” questions. Ask questions that encourage us all to think and delve deeper into the issues the author is writing about. Incorporate the Story Analysis questions to keep us focused on the author’s approach to narrative. I want you to also focus on how the author-artist uses her drawings to enhance what she is communicating in words. Explore, by asking questions about particular scenes, how the author's drawings convey some of what her words cannot.
After you have (1) posted your question in writing, (2) thoughtfully answer--using the Video recorder option for discussions (or upload from your Smart Device)--at least two questions posted by classmates, including textual support (i.e. evidence from the text with quotes and page references where appropriate) in your answer.
